Target Group

The Leading and Working in Virtual Teams workshop is designed for professionals across various roles and departments within the organization, including:
  • Leaders: To understand virtual teams’ challenges and needs, foster engagement, collaboration, psychological safety and performance
  • Virtual Team members: To improve collaboration and communication approaches, adapt team behaviors, build trust and inclusion and develop the high performing team traits in the virtual world
  • People & Culture: To support the transition to flexible work models and implementing hybrid work policies. This includes balancing remote and on-site roles, ensuring equitable rewards, and promoting career development opportunities for everyone, irrespective of on-site presence or traditional visibility expectations.

Methodology

Before the workshop:

  • Pre-Workshop Survey: Prior to the workshop, the participants complete a survey to highlight goals, strengths, and challenges to tailor the content of the workshop

During the workshop:
1- 2 Day Virtual or Face-to-Face Workshop /Customized to clients’ needs

  • High Performing Virtual Team Assessment: During the workshop, the participants complete the HPTA
  • Identify Participants’ Status: Assess the status of virtual team competence
  • Facilitator-led Sessions: Team activities and reflections on strengths, challenges and development areas based on best practice and participants’ context
  • Group activities: Practical teambuilding activities and action plans for practical application of guidance and team’s ideas and aspirations

After the workshop:

  • Application of learning to the workplace and cultivation of individual, team and organization competence in leading and working in the virtual work environment
  • Certification: Upon completion of the workshop, the participants receive a certificate of workshop completion and a badge demonstrating successful completion of the Leading and Working in Virtual Teams Workshop

Summary: Leading and Working in Virtual Teams

The Leading and Working in Virtual Teams workshop supports the participants to navigate the virtual work model and new ways of working, and foster adaptation, resilience, and effectiveness in evolving environments. It focuses on nurturing trust and psychological safety within teams, emphasizing autonomy, alignment, accountability, and effective collaboration in virtual settings. Through working on their real-work examples, participants can directly apply the principles learned and achieve a real impact on their performance in their virtual teams.
Prior to the workshop, participants complete a Pre-Workshop Survey to ascertain their objectives, strengths, and performance risks in Leading and Working in Virtual Teams. During the workshop, the participants complete a self-rating along the criteria of the High Performing Virtual Team Assessment to guide their understanding of effective team collaboration, and based on their results, the content and approach is tailored to the needs of the group. During the 1–2-day workshop, experiential and social learning activities, peer exercises, case-studies etc. uncover virtual work challenges and the participants collaboratively work on identifying solutions to their individual and group challenges.
The High Performing Virtual Team Framework provides a blueprint for effective Virtual Teamwork; fostering Trust and Relationships, Collaboration, Communication and Performance Management. The blueprint can be directly applied by the participants to their virtual teams.
